Vector GOES BEYOND to help Santa spread joy

Blog,Our Stories - January 17, 2019

When it comes to spreading Christmas cheer to underprivileged children, sometimes Santa needs a little help with… deliveries! Hearing that the folk from the Santa’s Shoebox initiative had lost their KZN transport partner, the Vector team (always eager to Go Beyond 😊) stepped in and provided the ‘sleigh’.

Each year Santa’s Shoebox facilitates the collection and distribution of shoeboxes containing personalised gifts for the underprivileged. In 2018 they collected nearly 100 000 boxes, bringing their total to nearly a million since the inception of the initiative. Like other charities, they rely on corporate partners – and that’s where the opportunity arose for Vector to make a difference.

“Having lost their logistics partner in Durban, the team from Santa’s Shoebox was looking for assistance with their KZN deliveries. They asked whether Vector Thekwini would be willing to assist, and we leapt at the chance!” said Paula Dovey, our Integrated Customer Service Excellence Executive at Vector.
By delivering boxes of gifts to ten children’s homes in and around Durban in November, the Vector Thekwini team got to be part of a great initiative that brings joy to underprivileged children at Christmas time.

“That’s what it means for us to #GoBeyond – doing and being more where it’s needed most!” said Paula.
